Honey consists almost 80% of dextrose (glucose) and fruit sugar (fructose) and contains at most 20% of water. But due to inflammation-inhibiting enzymes, bioactive substances and antioxidants, honey is more than just sweet!
Honey contains fewer calories than household sugar and has an appetizing effect. Because of the varied, natural ingredients which are not always compatible with babies, honey is not suitable for children up to the age of 12 months. After that honey accompanies us through our whole life.
